What you'll have
A channel of 30–60 second vertical videos on one topic: an AI-assisted script, a narrated voiceover, visuals you have rights to, and burned-in captions, published on a schedule from YouTube Studio.
Who pays for it: Ad revenue only arrives once the channel qualifies for the YouTube Partner Program. Many people earn sooner by selling the same pipeline as a service to businesses and creators.

Step by step
6 of 7 steps are checked against official docs, 1 is our advice. Menu names are quoted from the linked docs as of the date shown; apps change, so follow the doc if what you see differs.
Pick one narrow topic and write 10 script ideas
A narrow topic is easier to make consistently and easier for viewers to recognise. Put the hook in the first line of every script.
Our advice. No specific menus involved.
Generate the voiceover
In ElevenLabs, paste the script into the Text to Speech page, pick a voice, adjust settings and click Generate. ElevenLabs says the voice matters most, then the model, then the settings.

Edit vertically and add captions
Put the voiceover and visuals on a vertical timeline in CapCut, select the clip and generate auto captions. Clear audio and the right language setting prevent most caption failures.

Upload as a Short
In YouTube Studio, click CREATE, then Upload videos. You can choose up to 15 short videos at once, but click EDIT DRAFT to finish each video's details before publishing.

Answer the AI-use question honestly
In the Attributes section, under AI use, select Yes if the video has realistic AI-generated or meaningfully altered content. YouTube says disclosure alone won't limit reach or monetization eligibility.

Keep it original so it can be monetized later
YouTube's monetization policies require original, authentic content that isn't mass-produced or repetitive.

Track the Partner Program thresholds
For Shorts: 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days (or 4,000 public watch hours on long videos). Select Get notified in the Earn area of YouTube Studio.

Common mistakes
- Monetizing audio made on ElevenLabs' free plan, which is non-commercial. Starter adds a commercial license.
- Mass-producing near-identical videos. YouTube calls this inauthentic content and won't monetize it.
- Using music or clips you don't have rights to, which can bring Content ID claims or takedowns.
- Judging a topic on 3 videos. Commit to a batch before deciding.
Rights and terms check
ElevenLabs' free plan is non-commercial, so move to a paid plan before you monetize or deliver to a client. CapCut templates and assets can carry their own licenses. The commercial-rights matrix quotes each generator's clause.

How to get your first customer
- Offer the pipeline to a local business: 4 Shorts a month made from their FAQs.
- Show 3 sample Shorts in their niche, not yours.
- Sell a monthly package rather than single videos.
Our suggestions, not guarantees. Earnings vary.
FAQ
Can faceless Shorts be monetized?
Yes, if the channel meets the Partner Program requirements and follows the policy on original content. A voiceover isn't the problem; mass-produced, repetitive content is.
Do I have to label AI content?
YouTube requires disclosure for realistic AI-generated or meaningfully altered content. Non-realistic content and minor edits don't need it.
