Income claims are the least reliable numbers online. Platforms publish best cases, creators post their best month, and AI chatbots will invent a confident range when they don't know the answer. We'd rather tell you where each number came from.
Verified Verified
Verified means the figure comes from the platform itself: its published pay rates or rate cards, its payout totals, its fee schedule or its terms. It can also come from an official document such as a court filing. Verified doesn't mean typical. A platform's "up to $150/hour" is a verified ceiling, not what most people earn.
Examples: License your voice on the ElevenLabs Voice Library, AI training contracts for licensed professionals, Paid AI video campaigns (Higgsfield, Picsart, PixVerse Earn).
Self-reported Self-reported
Self-reported means someone other than the platform reported the figure: a creator's case study, an interview, a forum or Reddit post, a press article, or a third-party tracker that reads public listings. These numbers are useful but unconfirmed, and people who share income are usually the ones who did well. When a figure could fit either label, we use this one.
Examples: AI customer-service chatbots for small shops, Paid AI-assisted newsletter, AI automation agency for SMBs.
Estimate Estimate
Estimate means we calculated it. Every month-by-month earnings table in our research notes (67 notes) is an estimate. It is built from cited inputs (prices, commission rates, fees, published pay rates) and assumptions we state openly (hours worked, clients won, conversion rates). Each table says what it assumes and links to the worked math in the note. Where an entry mixes a source figure with our arithmetic, such as an average per creator, it carries both labels.
No reliable figure No reliable figure
No reliable figure appears where an entry says "Varies". It means we looked and found no public number we would stand behind. We won't fill the gap with a guess. Examples: Sell automation templates, Custom GPTs / agent personas, AI-assisted freelance writing.
Dates
Each figure shows a date. On research notes it is the day we last checked the figures against the linked sources. On shorter overview entries it is the day the entry was last updated. Prices and pay rates change often, so check the linked source before you rely on any number.
